Start With a Gentle Wash

Preparing your bundles and lace before installation helps maintain the hair’s softness and condition.

1. Cleanse gently. Use a shampoo suited to your hair and installation. Your existing care routine includes Lush Hydrating Shampoo.
2. Condition and detangle. Follow with Detangle Smoothie Conditioner. Gently work through the hair with a wide-tooth comb, starting at the ends and working toward the weft.
3. Rinse thoroughly. Gently squeeze out excess water. Avoid twisting or wringing the hair.
4. Dry with care. Air dry whenever possible, or use low heat. Make sure the hair and installation are completely dry before sleeping.

Use products sparingly to avoid buildup. If using Drops of Glam Hair Growth Oil, start with a small amount and follow its directions. Ask your stylist about product placement around your installation.

Protect Your Bundles From Heat

Detangle straight or wavy bundles gently from the ends toward the weft before styling.

• Apply a heat protectant before using hot tools, following the product’s directions.
• Keep hot tools at or below your existing care guide’s maximum of 350°F, and use a lower setting whenever possible. Your stylist’s guidance for your specific hair takes priority.
• Avoid repeated passes and excessive heat.

Closures and frontals are delicate. Unlike wefted bundles, their hairs are individually secured to a lace base, so gentle handling matters.

• Avoid scratching or tugging. Fingernails, vigorous washing, and excessive tension can damage the lace or contribute to shedding.
• Support the roots. Hold the hair near the base while detangling, without pulling on the knots or lace.
• Choose gentle tools. Explore the Detangling Brush or Detangling Comb, and ask your stylist which tool suits your installation.
• Use care around the hairline. Limit heat and avoid applying hot tools directly to the lace.
• Leave chemical services to a professional. Ask a licensed stylist about coloring or bleaching before altering the hair or knots.
• Keep it dry at bedtime. Make sure your closure, frontal, wig, and installation are completely dry before sleeping.
